After my death our beloved Church abroad will break three ways ... first the Greeks will leave us as they were never a part of us ... then those who live for this world and its glory will go to Moscow ... what will remain will be those souls faithful to Christ and His Church. ~St. Philaret of NY

Urgent Request

Dear RRb Reader, see this plea from the subdeacon who has been laboring many months now to bring us services in English.  It appears God will take his servant, the hieromonk Macarius, to another place.  -jh

Very Important - please reply

Dear Friends and Supporters,

I hope all of you had an enjoyable Labor Day Holiday.  Now that we are starting the Fall Season, I would like to turn your attention to a very important matter.

The next Divine Liturgy is on Saturday September 17th at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church in Astoria.

**I urge all of you to please make an extra effort to attend if you and your friends/relatives are interested and are able to do so.  Please answer this e-mail with either a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ if you would like to continue to hear the entire Divine Liturgy in English as well as spiritually uplifting and instructive sermons that can help you through the week in this hectic world. I shall explain the need for the urgency below.**

Father Macarius will be serving.  For the next Service  – October – Father Macarius has been called to Odessa by Metropolitan Agafangel – I do not know for how long this will be – perhaps well into 2012.

This e-mail is a turning point.  To continue to have these services in English it will be necessary for us to pull together more  – both physically and monetarily.  We are hopeful to find a priest close by but that is not possible right now.  And yet it is very important to continue - Archbishop Andronik supports us completely as do Father Vsevolod and Matushka Irina.  Most likely we will need to ask a priest from quite a distance  to serve.  This will involve compensation-at the very least- for his travelling expenses – I figure about $100.
Now is the time to demonstrate your interest.  If very few come to the September Liturgy I will have to report this to Archbishop Andronik.   He will of course be saddened but then he will most likely discontinue Services in English.

Your answer:      YES ________________
                             NO ________________

Thank you very much for your kind attention to this.

Hoping to hear from you timely,

With Love In Christ

Sub-Deacon Ilarion Maharadze Marr

P.S. If you like please circulate this message to those who may be interested.  Thank you again!
