11/1/2011 Reposed in the Lord Abbot Seraphim (Kuczynski)
Dear brothers and sisters!
PRAY ONE FOR ANOTHER, thus we have been enjoined by the Holy Apostles
Today, 01.11.2011, Abbot Seraphim (Kuchinskiy) reposed in the Lord.
Shortly before his death the Father visited the Monastery of the Epiphany – whose Abbot is Archbishop Abbot Sophroniy – in order to come to terms with the monastery’s abbot and monks and eft a will for Archbishop Sophroniy to see him off on his last journey.
As early as back in January 1992 the whole monastery, whose abbot Hegumen Seraphim was, came under the ROCOR omophorion. But his life cannot be regarded unequivocally because the acts he committed were not always in obedience to the ecclesiastical canons. His earthly life was full of grave ordeals – both spiritual and worldly.
The father devoted a lot of his forces to the good of the Church of Christ, but just the same - many were the enemies of mankind who laughed at him. He was repeatedly abandoning the Church bosom – declaring himself “bishop”, and would then return again.
On the threshold of eternity the Father was able to reconcile both with the Church and with his flock, which [fact] put the devil to shame. Through confession and communion F. Seraphim – on the blessing of Archbishop Sophroniy, was restored into the clergy ranks of ROCOR.
The monastic brothers delivered communion to him on several occasions, visiting him in hospital, performing Unction [service] and rendering all prayer support for him. Following the early Christians' example, dear brothers and sisters, do pray from the depths of your soul for Abbot Seraphim, remembering that every sincere word, spoken from the depths of soul and heart - is our little mite, brought to the foot of God's throne.
Memory eternal to Abbot Seraphim.
+ Archbishop Sophronius
