After my death our beloved Church abroad will break three ways ... first the Greeks will leave us as they were never a part of us ... then those who live for this world and its glory will go to Moscow ... what will remain will be those souls faithful to Christ and His Church. ~St. Philaret of NY

Orthodox Charismatics Incomplete Conversion

The following post is selected from Western Rite Critic blog.  CEC stands for Charismatic Episcopal Church, from which world Orthodoxy is receiving many converts as both individuals and whole parishes.

Two Orthodox priests, formerly from the Charismatic Episcopal Church:
“We’re not trying to bring some Convergence Movement into Orthodoxy – not in any way. We’re Orthodox Christians, and we’re grateful for how that movement maybe helped bring us here to this place.” – Fr. John, Antiochian Church

How could anyone be grateful for the charismatic movement?  How can anything of Satan's help bring us to the Church?  Only one way possible:  by showing us hell.

...In all our days, let us be glad for the days wherein Thou didst humble us, for the years wherein we saw evils...  1st Hour  Psalm 89

For this world Orthodox priest to be able to say that the charismatic movement helped bring him "here to this place" [world Orthodoxy?] shows that he does not see that Satan had him in his clutches when he was "speaking in tongues" and receiving "words" and the like.   The Orthodox Church RESCUED him from the edge of an abyss.  God saw that he had stumbled into Satan's charismatic trap and was being drowned in emotionalism and spiritism.   The only things acceptable to bring with us into Orthodoxy are things like a love of Truth, a desire to know God and be with Him, a willingness to make sacrifices.  The charismatic spirit can not give us those things.  Anyone who feels he has these things and that he obtained them through the charismatic movement needs to look again: guaranteed he had them long before he met the charismatic movement.  When we grasp the lifeline and climb on board the Holy Ship, we come stripped naked, everything from the deadly deceitful sea of Satan must be left behind.  There can be no good in anything of Satan's.  Looking back is taking the risk of being turned into a pillar of salt.

This convert priest has not made a full conversion nor a full repentance for worshipping a false god: the charismatic's pseudo-holy spirit is a demon-infested idol.
