After my death our beloved Church abroad will break three ways ... first the Greeks will leave us as they were never a part of us ... then those who live for this world and its glory will go to Moscow ... what will remain will be those souls faithful to Christ and His Church. ~St. Philaret of NY

SIR Bishop Ambrose African Mission

Bishop Ambrose visits Congo & Kenya

Alexandrian Bishop with a Romanian Bishop, visits Tanzania, etc.

SUBJECT: Current Orthodox missionary activities in Africa, of all various jurisdictions-...very inspiring!
They, in their dire poverty and often living amongst war and civil disorder, and famine, .... hunger for and deeply treasure, what we  comfortable Orthodox in the 'first world', seem to take for granted, and often are very lax in practicing,
and too, how many of us, in our hearts, are  full or true believers, but we only go through the outward motions?
We are 'Orthodox' in name, but not always .....in practice.
These Africans put us to shame!
Mass baptism, & marriages, etc....sermon in English about Orthodox devotion and zeal among Africans, etc.
(& regardless of what reservatiions we conservative Orthodox, have with the Alexandrian Patriarchate)-
The moderator is speaking in Romanian.
