Russian dissident priest stabbed to death by ‘sick’ graduate

A Hertfordshire parish is in mourning with millions of Russians following the murder of one of Russia’s best-loved priests — a one-legged dissident who fought the Soviet authorities and his own church.
Father Pavel Adelheim was buried yesterday in the northwestern city of Pskov where he had served for the last decades of his life.
The crowd of abiut 1,000 mourners spilled into the streets surrounding the Church of the Myrrh Bearers but did not include any representatives from the  local Orthodox Church hierarchy.
