After my death our beloved Church abroad will break three ways ... first the Greeks will leave us as they were never a part of us ... then those who live for this world and its glory will go to Moscow ... what will remain will be those souls faithful to Christ and His Church. ~St. Philaret of NY

Rocana News item
January 5, 2014

Dear Members of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad

It is with great joy that we write this announcement regarding the Russian Orthodox community forming
in Middleburgh New York. Many of us know it as “Mountainview”! Since its inception in 2010, it has
gone through vigorous renovations by taking this abandoned property and making it a habitable home.
It has gone through spiritual renewal with the grand blessing of the New Martyrs and Confessors of
Russia church. And the exciting part is that this is only the beginning!

Since a significant part of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad decided to join the Church in Russia, we
were unwillingly denied of some of Our Churches’ oldest treasures that we have enjoyed for decades.
We believe “Mountainview” to be a gift from God and envision its many possibilities to include:
  - a Russian Orthodox parish
  - encompass a Russian Orthodox monastic community
  - a center for Russian Orthodox conferences of all sorts (youth/music etc)
  - a much needed cemetery in North America

All this is possible but it requires our help! Many of the major renovations to the main building and
church structures have been or are nearing completion and have been donated by a number of Our
Churches’ members. For this, glory be to God! Where our help is much needed is to simply keep the
doors open. Utility and basic operational costs may be expensive if tackled by a single individual, but by
a simple monthly pledge among many individuals, it becomes easily managed.

Please join our list of monthly pledgers! No pledge is too large or too small; and it is not the amount of
the pledge that is the most important, but rather your sincere participation. Anonymous pledgers are
kept confidential.

You may make your pledges out to “Mountainview Russian Orthodox Church” and mail them to:
