After my death our beloved Church abroad will break three ways ... first the Greeks will leave us as they were never a part of us ... then those who live for this world and its glory will go to Moscow ... what will remain will be those souls faithful to Christ and His Church. ~St. Philaret of NY

Who said Old Calendarists are uneducated?

...And first remember Thy Holy Church,
which Thou hast provided through Thy Precious blood.
Confirm, strengthen, extend and increase her,
and keep her in peace, and for ever proof
against the power of hell.
Calm the dissensions of the Churches,
and foil the plans of the powers of darkness,...

Etna's Unpleasant But Necessary Statement dated July 2

There is something in Etna's Unpleasant But Necessary Statement that sticks in my mind:

"...the ecumenical proponents of false union make us Old Calendarists the objects of their vulgar ridicule and resentment, trumpeting forth hackneyed accusations that we are uneducated, fanatic opponents of true and canonical Christian unity..."

Who would say the Etna Bishops are uneducated?  Whoever said such a thing must have been kidding.  Everyone knows both Etna Bishops were educated at Princeton University.  Anyone can easily see by their vocabulary that they are highly educated.  And so is everyone who works with them.  Details are published on inside covers of their periodical:

Within a week of the Unpleasant But Necessary Statement, Etna announced the formation of its new Theological Seminary:
Announcement of Etna Theological Seminary July 8

How can anyone say seriously that the Old Calendarists are uneducated?
