After my death our beloved Church abroad will break three ways ... first the Greeks will leave us as they were never a part of us ... then those who live for this world and its glory will go to Moscow ... what will remain will be those souls faithful to Christ and His Church. ~St. Philaret of NY

Blessings!  Grabbing a minute before leaving for the week (and most of the next, though "home" over the weekend) for family visits in IL & IA, then services for the Nativity of the Theotokos in OK... some assorted photos showing progress in the library being built in an earthquake-damaged part of St. Augustine's School at Cyvadier/Jacmel.  The "food for hungry scholars" shipment is set to be en route the 22nd, probably actual availability in Haiti late Oct (customs takes a long time!).  The damaged well at St. Augustine's has been repaired and is fully functional.

HOWEVER... resources are depleted!  Probably not enough left to finish the library and school improvements.  Your generosity will make for healthy deposits in your heavenly account!

Battling not only earthquake damage but also the ravages of voracious Haitian termites... nearly all wood is being replaced with metal, and the raw concrete block we've lived with for the past nine years is at last getting a "facelift" -- nicely plastered walls for a significant portion of the building (but much remains yet to be done).  Certainly a more cheerful and encouraging environment for the 350+ students and their teachers!

I hope this doesn't overload your mailbox!
