After my death our beloved Church abroad will break three ways ... first the Greeks will leave us as they were never a part of us ... then those who live for this world and its glory will go to Moscow ... what will remain will be those souls faithful to Christ and His Church. ~St. Philaret of NY

Papa's Funeral 10

• ROCOR-MP deacon Matthew has changed the SJKP website home page.  Before making any inquiries into past or future orders, I suggest waiting until the website is back in the hands of the ROCA.  Be assured that the MP will not take over the SJKP.  -jh

This is the νεκροσιμα τρισαγιον (funerary Trisagion) chanted at the reception of the body into the Church -this was recorded at the recent funeral of Master Protopsaltis Lycourgos Angelopoulos (another giant in the liturgical world).  Rest eternal to Christ's righteous priests.

Reckoning the 40th day
According to ROCA calculation, the 40th day should be Sunday, 6 November:
 28-30 September  =  3 days
  1-31 October    = 31 days
   1-6 November   =  6 days
       Total      = 40 days
The pannychida on the 40th day could be performed on Sunday evening, after Vespers on 6 November.

Dear Mrs. Joanna. We received the sad news about the death of father Gregory.
I want to thank you for the pictures and comments that you put about these on your blog.
I just wanted to ask you that if there is any biography about the father´s life.  I would like to read it. It will be a great example for all us.  Thanks, Ivan Koukharsky

Eternal Memory: The burial of Archpriest Gregory Williams
prot. Alexander # 5529
I had a chance to meet with Fr. Gregory at the V All-Diaspora Council. Immediately, he impressed me as a strict ascetic and inadvertently summoned a certain sense of awe. I am very sorry that we share a language barrier. But spiritually, and this is clearly felt, we were united. Kingdom of Heaven and eternal peace!

Believers tried to announce their participation in the funeral Fr. Gregory, in his posting information about his funeral. But at the funeral they were not.

thank you for writing and for your kind words.

That is a wonderful idea to have a biography! It would be a very big book! We need a volunteer to do even a short biography. A volunteer from among us – one of us – somebody we can trust to be truthful.

I know that Mat. Anastasia is collecting memories, personal notes from people, what they remember about Fr. Gregory.

There is one record in the Living Orthodoxy magazines, on the inside front covers for years Father would give updates on his Agape Community. And then after the computer came into use, especially after the ROCOR-MP union, Father sent emails weekly to his flock that included news updates, often with personal notes.

The tragedy today is that ALL of Father Gregory's family (except for his Matushka) are in world-orthodoxy, NONE of them (except for his Matushka) are in the same jurisdiction (ROCOR Vladyka Agafangel) or a Sister Church (GOC). ALL of them are ecumenists (whether they admit it or not): either in the ROCOR-MP or the OCA.

Worst is the ROCOR-MP because it is so shrewd and deceitful. Father Gregory's son, Matthew was ordained in the ROCOR-MP and he unethically opposes his father by accepting the ROCOR-MP position as ROCOR-MP Haiti Administrator. What a terrible thing for a son to do to his father! Neither is he teaching his own children to respect their grandfather. We can not trust Matthew – it is like Matthew is under an evil spell. Many of us have noticed that the hurricane that hits Haiti now is named Matthew.

Thank you for your prayers.

No, I do not understand monk Nicander's comment. It is a machine translation, and he could be talking about Russian websites...
