After my death our beloved Church abroad will break three ways ... first the Greeks will leave us as they were never a part of us ... then those who live for this world and its glory will go to Moscow ... what will remain will be those souls faithful to Christ and His Church. ~St. Philaret of NY

Thank you, Eugenia, for sharing these photos. Seeing the grave of Bp. Nektary brought tears to my eyes. AKA: The Silent Giant. He was a spiritual son of Hieromonk Nektary of Optina, (the last of the true elders). He also served as the confessor-bishop for Fr. Seraphim Rose after St. John reposed.

With the fading condition of ROCOR in America today, looking back on the times of these great ones, this was when ROCOR was at a height. The fruits should be preserved for our benefit and for future generations. Matushka Anastasia (SJKP) pointed out to me yesterday, that the old ROCOR consisted of "refugees", as opposed to the Metropolia (old OCA) which consisted mainly of immigrants. ROCOR's experience of exile rendered wonderful spiritual fruit.
