After my death our beloved Church abroad will break three ways ... first the Greeks will leave us as they were never a part of us ... then those who live for this world and its glory will go to Moscow ... what will remain will be those souls faithful to Christ and His Church. ~St. Philaret of NY

ROCOR-GOC Joint Appeal to those in Schism

ROCOR and GOC: Appeal to the Separated from the One Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church

The Bishops' Council of the ROCA and the hierarchy of the Greek True Orthodox Church issued a joint appeal to the schismatics.

We, the representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and of the True Orthodox Church of Greece, testify that the Church of Christ, from its foundation and to the end of the world, was, and is- One (Single). It can not be divided into equally grace-filled and salvific branches or fragments.
The heretical confession that the Church has allegedly been divided into separate, separate, grace-filled groups, has, especially, spread in recent times, and it promotes divisions and formations of new jurisdictions. We do not accept but reject this false teaching, as a kind of ecumenistic heresy, asserting, that the Church of Christ has been divided into branches.
We believe and confess that salvation is possible only in the Church, which was, and will be to the end of the world, One.Therefore, we appeal to all of those who have the faith of the Orthodox Faith .
In particular, we appeal to those who have been separated from the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and to those who remain in schism with Archbishops Andronik and Sophrony, as well as those who are in communion with them, to return to the bosom of the salvific Church of Christ. For the sake of this hope, for unity in Christ, the bishops of ROCOR. Postpone their decision about a final decision of their status, until the next Bishops' Council.
