After my death our beloved Church abroad will break three ways ... first the Greeks will leave us as they were never a part of us ... then those who live for this world and its glory will go to Moscow ... what will remain will be those souls faithful to Christ and His Church. ~St. Philaret of NY

Under-ban Bishop Andronik gave an interview to Portal Credo.ru

from Joanna's notepad

In Russian.

A machine translation reveals that while some misunderstandings and perceived mishandling of certain Church situations were excuses for the schism, the main cause of the schism is "an unclear concept of the Church" -- and the resulting faulty reasoning I call "jurisdictional ecumenism."  The under-ban Bishop Andronik is calling it "schismo-ecumenism" and does not see that he himself is under its influence.  He has misinterpreted Vl. Agafangel's past ideas for possibilities for the R-fragments to return intact.  Vl. Agafangel meant they might be able to keep only their organizational structure intact - not also their own jurisdiction.  They could continue to govern themselves as usual, but they would be rejoined in us and commemorating Vl. Agafangel at the Liturgies.

In judging the Mountain View schism one clear sign needs to be kept in the forefront.  It is the same sign that pointed the right way in the ROCOR-MP schism: namely our Sister Churches – Greeks, Bulgarians, and Romanians – all firmly and unhesitatingly recognize Vl. Agafangel's synod as the sole true valid continuation of the ROCOR.

This is an irrefutable Witness and unquestionable Testimony of God's will.

The only right thing for the schismatics to do is to return and trudge through the ironing out of their problems with their true synod.
