False Union Blues for ROCOR-MP in Germany
Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany ignored the spring session of the Orthodox Episcopal Assembly of Germany.
The problem of the ROC in this country is that after the unification of the MP and ROCOR in one country and as one church there were two bishops with the same title.
After the death of the Archbishop of Berlin and Germany (according to the MP version) Feofan, it seemed logical and canonical to unite the two dioceses of the same name into one.
(In the course of the "Antiochian schism" of the 4th century, the St. Antiochian Patriarch Meletios (according to the version of the East) also suggested that the holy and also the Antiochian and also Patriarch Pavlin (according to the version of the West) share management with him so that in the event of the death of one another he remained the head of the unified Antioch churches).
When it became obvious that the patriarchate would not give it up, the Archbishop of Berlin and Germany (according to ROCA) Mark asked Patriarch Kirill to at least not appoint a bishop with the title "Berlin" to Berlin. The request was respected. Now the Berlin diocese is governed by Archbishop Podolsky.
The very session of the Orthodox Episcopal Assembly of Germany was held in the citadel of the "Russian world" - in the House of Russian Science and Culture at the Russian Embassy. At the end of the meeting, the bishops and staff of the Orthodox Episcopal Assembly attended a reception on the occasion of the assumption of the office of the Governor of the Berlin-German Diocese, Archbishop of Podolsky Tikhon
... Well, in general, Mark did not come there.
